Vivid Rose

In WGSN’s Spring/Summer ‘25 print forecast, Artistic Garden is a concept featuring vivid blooms; utilizing painterly and sketched styles that embrace imperfections. Inspired by the Post-Impressionism art movement, artists would use vivid and unnatural colors, distinctive and choppy brush strokes, and ordinary subject matters that were abstracted from their natural appearances. There is a Japanese concept, called wabi-sabi, that encourages us to appreciate that nothing is truly perfect or permanent. The market I designed for is high end Residential Upholstery. WGSN states hand painted florals are used in statement pieces such as rugs, drapes, and chairs for Spring/Summer ‘25. My design can be seen on fabrics such as hyper-matte velvets and short pile weaves because sensitivity to touch is important to deliver to customers.
